Acceptable Use Policy

Effective date: August 5, 2026 · Last updated: August 5, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what you may not do on the TurnUp Service. It applies to everyone who accesses the Service — Business Users, Clients, and visitors — and is incorporated into our Terms of Service. Violating this AUP may result in the actions described in Section 6.

1. Purpose & Scope

TurnUp exists to help people book real services with real businesses, and to help businesses avoid no-shows. This Policy exists to keep the platform safe, trustworthy, and lawful for everyone who uses it.

2. General Prohibited Conduct

You must not use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation, or facilitate, promote, or book any illegal service, product, or activity;
  • Defraud any person, including making fraudulent Bookings, disputing legitimate charges in bad faith ("friendly fraud"), or using stolen payment details;
  • Harass, threaten, abuse, defame, stalk, or intimidate another user, including through booking notes or in-platform messages;
  • Discriminate against, or refuse service to, any person on the basis of a characteristic protected by applicable law;
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
  • Post or transmit content that is unlawful, obscene, hateful, or that infringes any third party's intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights;
  • Create a fake account, a fake Booking, or a fake review, or manipulate the verified-business program;
  • Use the Service to launder money or to move funds for any purpose other than a genuine service Booking;
  • Collect or harvest personal data about other users beyond what is necessary for a legitimate Booking; or
  • Attempt to circumvent Deposit collection, Platform Fees, or any payment flow, including by arranging payment outside the Service to avoid fees where the Booking itself originated on TurnUp.

3. Rules for Business Users

In addition to the rules above, as a Business User you must not:

  • List a service you are not legally permitted, licensed, or qualified to provide;
  • Misrepresent your prices, availability, deposit terms, qualifications, or the nature of a service;
  • Collect a Deposit for a Booking you do not intend to honor, or routinely cancel confirmed Bookings without reasonable cause;
  • Use TurnUp's messaging tools to send content unrelated to an actual Booking, including marketing, political, or promotional messages to Clients who have not separately opted in to receive them; or
  • Request or collect a Client's Deposit or payment through a manual/off-platform method while representing to the Client that it is protected by TurnUp's standard deposit protections, if it is not.

4. Messaging & Communication Rules

TurnUp's SMS, WhatsApp, and email tools are for transactional communications only — confirmations, reminders, reschedule links, deposit notices, and similar Booking-related messages — consistent with WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and applicable anti-spam and telecommunications law (such as Ghana's Electronic Communications Act and similar laws elsewhere). You must not use these tools to send unsolicited marketing, political messaging, or any message to a phone number or email address that has not interacted with your business through the Service.

5. Technical Abuse

You must not:

  • Access or attempt to access the Service by any means other than the interfaces we provide;
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach any security or authentication measure, without our prior written authorization;
  • Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code;
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data from the Service, other than search engines indexing publicly available booking pages; or
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or the data it contains, including through excessive automated requests.

6. Enforcement

If we reasonably believe you have violated this AUP, we may, at our discretion and without prior notice: remove or restrict access to the offending Content; warn you; suspend or terminate your account; withhold or reverse a payout; cancel a Booking; and/or report the conduct to law enforcement or other relevant authorities. We will consider the severity and context of a violation in deciding how to respond.

7. Reporting a Violation

If you believe someone is violating this AUP, please report it to support@turnup.show with as much detail as possible (for example, the business or booking page, and what happened).

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time by posting a revised version with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated as described in our Terms of Service.
